Angeliki Agalianou

Angeliki Agalianou was born in Zakynthos. She holds a piano diploma (Nikos Skalkotas Conservatory), a bachelor in English Language and Literature (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), an MA in Cross-Cultural Communication and Education (Newcastle University) and a diploma in Storytelling (Center for the Study and the Dissemination of Myths and Tales).

Since 2017, she’s been giving music/storytelling performances and workshops for children and adults, in association with various institutions in Greece and abroad (Megaron Athens Concert Hall, Goethe Institut, the Greek Embassy in Brussels, Music Village, Reading to the others, Center for the Study and the Dissemination of Myths and Tales etc.). In 2019-2021 she produced a radio show around traditional tales and songs alongside Eleana Chatzaki. She is among the founders of Miliá of Folk Tradition and Contemporary Art NPO, organizing storytelling performances and festivals in association with Greek and foreign institutions since 2021. In 2023, within the “Stories in the Air” training program, co-funded by Erasmus+, Miliá NPO and L’Arbre à  Histoires (France), she carried out a series of workshops for a Day Care Centre for people with disabilities.

In 2020-2021 she worked as a researcher of oral history for istorima, where she is currently working as an editor. From 2022 until present, she has been working with Eleana Chatzaki on recording the oral folk tradition of Malevizi, Crete. Folktales she has edited are included in folktales collections (Apopeira editions). The original text she has written for a theatrical play has been published in 2018 (Periplous editions).
