Angeliki Agalianou

Main Stage Hostess


Angeliki Agalianou was born in Zakynthos. She holds a degree in Classical Piano (Nikos Skalkottas Conservatory) and English Language and Literature (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Communication and Education (Newcastle University), and is a graduate of the School of Narrative Art (Center for the Study and Dissemination of Myths and Fairy Tales).

Since 2017, she has been organizing musical storytelling performances, educational programs, and workshops centered around storytelling for both children and adults, collaborating with institutions in Greece and abroad, including the Athens Concert Hall, Goethe Institut, Greek Embassy in Brussels, Music Village, Διαβάζω για τους άλλους (Reading for Others), Center for the Study and Dissemination of Myths and Fairy Tales, and more.

As a musician, she has worked with artists such as Nikos Portokaloglou, has been a member of the vocal ensemble of Natalia Lampadaki, and since 2020, she has been part of the women’s vocal ensemble Μπόνες Νότες.

From 2019 to 2021, she co-produced the radio show «Δώσ’ της φούρλα να γυρίσει» with Eleana Chatzaki. She is a founding member of Miliá της Λαϊκής Παράδοσης και της Σύγχρονης Τέχνης ΑΜΚΕ, an organization that has been collaborating with municipalities and institutions in Greece and abroad since 2021, designing and implementing storytelling performances, storytelling festivals, and educational programs with a focus on storytelling and puppetry.

During 2020-2021, she worked as a researcher documenting oral history for istorima, where she currently works as an editor. Since 2022, in collaboration with Eleana Chatzaki, she has been conducting a project documenting the oral folk tradition of the villages of Malevizi Province in Crete.

Fairy tales she has edited have been included in fairy tale collections (Apopira Publications). Her original script for the Zakynthian Folk Theater performance «Τριώ γενιώνε ριζικό, τριώ γυναικών ορμήνειες» was published in 2018 (Periplous Publications).
